A set of 6 Mopane Wooden Stick/Knife/Ribs for Throwing Cylinders, Compressing Floor ,Stretching Nice Curves on Mugs/Small to Large Bowls Designed by Master Potter Hsin-Chuen Lin.

These beautiful pottery tools are made of exotic Mopane wood. Mopane is a hardwood from Africa, heavy (Density greater than water), resistant and of low porosity, with exceptional tunewood quality. The wood is considered very difficult to work, as — in addition to its great density — its grain patterns are usually interlocked. It turns smoothly and holds details very well, making it popular for wood turning and for making musical instruments.

To watch how I use the round rib, please visit my Youtube videos:

Care and maintenance:

They should not be left in the water or shurry bucket for a long time. After finishing, use a sponge to clean the surface, and set out to dry. In a couple weeks, apply mineral oil (my student use olive oil) on the surface and you can continue to enjoy their beauty and function!
